The Allama Iqbal International Airport on Friday experienced a major power shutdown for over 20 minutes due to some technical fault in the backup power system. According to the sources in the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), everyday because of electricity loadshedding the airport experiences a power failure for a couple of minutes but this time round the backup power generating system could not start immediately for some reasons.
However, no interruption or disruption was recorded in the computer and communication system of the airport. The CAA spokesperson denied such power failure.
