This is with reference to the news item 'KESC blamed for overcharging consumers'. In this regard the Karachi Electric Supply would like to state that the company has merged three BOCs of North Karachi into one Virtual Integrated Business Centre. In that process, the billing cycle of most of the customers has been changed as their accounts have been shifted from one cycle to the other.
Customers of these areas, who previously received their bills in the final days of every month, would now be receiving bills in the starting days of each month. The KESC duly informed the customers of these areas about this administrative shifting through a letter attached with the bills of November. From December onwards, the customers of these areas will receive their bills on new dates with due date changed too.
Less than 10 percent of the current bills of the new billing system have been issued on the basis of average units. The billed amount would be adjusted in the bills of the next month against the actual used electricity units.-PR
