Danish Kaneria to take legal course

08 Jan, 2011

The out-of-favour leg spinner Danish Kaneria has finally decided to ask the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on his exclusion from the Test squad. In a statement issued here, the leg spinner has already acquired the services of a barrister, Stephen Hourigan, who has especially flown in from London to assist Kaneria in this regard.
"I asked my barrister (Stephen Hourigan) to come to Karachi and he had already sent a letter to the PCB, requesting them to have a meeting on the issue", Kaneria said. Kaneria, Pakistan's highest wicket-taking spinner in Tests with 261 scalps, also claimed to have not received any explanation from the PCB as to why he was sidelined despite providing the PCB with all the details they asked for.
"The PCB sought details and I submitted all my accounts' details. I have also sent the ICC's letter to the board in which the governing body has cleared me of all charges," maintained Kaneria. "The way I was sidelined is not only damaging my career but also have an adverse effect on my reputation as well", added Kaneria.
