10 Jan, 2011

The Mutahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has demanded arrest of terrorists involved in target killings of MQM workers Yawar Abbas and Adil Akhtar Jaffery and also to take strict action against the miscreant elements abetting the culprits.
This demand was raised at a press conference by MQM Rabita Committee held at Khursheed Begum Memorial Hall here on Sunday. Wasay Jalil, member of MQM Rabita Committee demanded of President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani, Interior Minister Rehman Malik, Sindh Governor Dr Ishrat ul Ibad Khan and Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah to ensure arrest of the terrorists involved in target killings of MQM workers Yawar Abbas and Adil Akhtar Jaffery, and also demanded strict action against the miscreant elements backing and abetting the culprits and terrorists.
He said that MQM would not let the conspiracies succeed against the unity of the people and sectarian harmony and unity of Muslims, and would not give up the mission of respecting humanity as MQM has always played a positive role for the security and stability of the country and for better future of democracy, and the workers of MQM are ready to give sacrifices for the sake of the country. The elements hatching conspiracy to weaken MQM, want to make the country unstable, he added.
Wasay said MQM had always strives for the unity of the masses and sectarian harmony in Sindh and the unity of the people never let these conspiracies flourish as the attempt of these elements failed they have started targeting MQM workers and office bearers especially belonging to Shiite community, he added.
He said the move to erupt sectarian violence had started with the target killing of MQM Member of Sindh Assembly Raza Haider in August 2010 and the conspiracy has now paced up as workers of the party are getting targeted frequently. On the other hand, to build up hatred and rage in Shias against MQM the miscreant elements have started sending baseless and negative messages on the cell phones, he added.
He termed the attempt as wicked and said it is a part of conspiracy against MQM to make the party unstable, to compel the people quit MQM and to divide the people of Sindh on sectarian basis, especially in urban areas.
