Danish schools to materialise dream of students of backward areas: Shahbaz

Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that the only difference between prestigious educational institutions of the country and Danish Schools is that while the former are only for the elite, the latter are meant for the poor boy and girl students of backward and far-flung areas. He said that Danish Schools will not only promote education and knowledge in the
backward areas but will also polish the talent of the students of these areas and will enable them join national mainstream for playing their role in national development and prosperity.
He was talking to Chief Executive Officer of the School of Leadership Sheerin Naqvi here Sunday. Matters regarding education, training and character building of young generation were discussed.
Speaking on this occasion, the Chief Minister said that the young generation is a national asset and its education and training on modern lines can help ensure a glorious future for the country. He said that Punjab government is utilising all available resources for the uplift of education sector and imparting modern knowledge to young generation and revolutionary measures are being taken for this purpose.
He said that steps like setting up of Punjab Education Endowment Fund and IT labs in high schools are yielding a far-reaching impact on the development of education sector. He said that setting up of Danish schools will materialise the dream of the students of backward areas to have modern education and these schools will not only help in the elimination of extremism but also remove the sense of deprivation of the students of backward areas.
He said that in the first phase three Danish schools would be inaugurated on January 13. He said that maximum resources are being spent on the welfare and betterment of the people and a high standard of development projects is being ensured. He said that Punjab government would evolve a programme with the co-operation of the School of Leadership for the character building of the youth.
Earlier, Chief Executive Officer, Sheerin Naqvi informed about the programme of her institution regarding education and training of the youth.
