Italian news reports say a 70-year-old retiree has shot dead two neighbors and then his wife before turning the gun on himself in the northern city of Genoa. The shooter died later in a hospital, said the ANSA news agency, citing local prosecutor Vittorio Ranieri Miniati.
The reports say the shooter first went to a coffee bar where he shot his two neighbors, then went back home where he killed his wife. He barricaded himself in his home as police surrounded it, before shooting himself, according to the reports. ANSA quoted the prosecutor as saying jealousy was a possible motive.
Nobody was immediately available for comment at Genoa police.
