General elections can be held any time: Imran

Chairman, Pakistan Tehreek-e Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan has said the prevailing political situation in the country indicates that general election could be held any time, and PTI has started reorganisation of the party and preparation for the elections.
Addressing "Meet the Press" programme of Karachi Press Club here on Tuesday, he said that it was not democracy that a party which was in the government also in the opposition. "We believe that at present there is no opposition and democracy in the country and there is a need of a real opposition, which should give tough time to the government which ultimately benefit the masses," he added.
PTI chief said that real opposition could compel the government to solve the problems being faced by the masses and the country. However, he said, at present all the ruling and opposition parties were making the people fool. He said that the educated and conscious people wanted a new Pakistan, where should be peace, justice and equality.
Imran said that there was no tax culture in the country, as politicians were evading taxes and some 61 percent of parliamentarians had not paid any tax at all and they had bank accounts outside of the country. He said the country was facing serious financial crisis and the economy needed corrective measures and long term policies.
Khan said that the growing influence of US in the region was major cause of religious extremism and if US did not quit the region extremism will increase. President KPC Tahir Hasan Khan and Secretary Moosa Kaleem also spoke on the occasion.
