26 Nov, 2017

The National Highway Authority (NHA) had issued tender for consultancy services for feasibility study and preliminary design for Sambrial-Kharian Motorway Project under Public Private Partnership arrangement, an official of NHA told APP on Sunday.

The proposed highway would start from the termination point of Lahore-Sialkot Motorway at Sambrial, thus providing Kharian a motorway link to Lahore.

A Pre-Proposal Conference would be held on November 29, at the NHA headquarters in Islamabad.

It is worth a mentioning here that Lahore-Sialkot Motorway (LSM) project also being built on BOT model.

The motorway project would help link remote areas with big cities and reduce the distance between Sialkot and Lahore.

The mega project would not only ensure fast inter-city travel but also provide economic boom as well as create employment opportunities in the region. The LSM would start from Sahowala-Sambrial and would end at Kala Shah Kaku via Daska, Gujranwala and Kamonki.
