Three ANP, two MQM workers among nine shot dead

Nine people including three ANP, two MQM activists and one cop were shot in separate incidents across the metropolis dead on Wednesday. The ANP workers were targeted at Pehalwan Goth in the limits of Gulistan-e-Jauhar police.
According to ANP spokesperson, the assailants targeted Khayal Wazeer, a food-vendor, then a cousin of ANP Ward's President Liaquat Bangash and later Saleem Khan after kidnapping while Shahid Ghani was killed when he was going to attend the funeral prayers of Wazeer and Saleem Khan.
Later, ANP nominated its rival Pukhtoon criminal group led by Muddasir for the said killings in the FIR and also staged a protest and blocked vehicular traffic at Gulistan-e-Jauhar and Sharah-e-Faisal for hours. In another incident, Shakir Ali, 50, an MQM worker and employee of the land department was killed and three other workers were injured in Manghopir police limits.
A body of MQM worker was also found within the limits of Khokhrapar police station. The victim was identified as Adil, 28, son of Abdul Sattar, a resident of Mominabad. A police head constable Rana Sohail alias Akhri Baloch, 38, was gunned down and two others namely Omer Khayam and Naushad were injured in the limits of Orangi town police station. Police said Rana Sohail, who was a resident of Orangi Town Sector 10, might be killed on personal enmity. Similarly, Wali Hassan, Kamran, an alleged drug trafficker and Ghulam Hazrat were killed in separate incidents of targeted killings.
