President of Multan Chamber of Commerce & Industry (MCCI) Shahid Naseem Khokhar has called for extension in date of e-filing the corporate returns of income for at least 20 days up to January 30.
The extension is required to facilitate the business community in view of recent substantial changes in the income tax return form and its annexure, short period of compliance for taxpayers after the forms had been made public and prevailing chaotic condition of the economy and financial system, said the president in a statement on Wednesday.
Khokhar was of the view that in the current scenario especially when the forms were made available just two weeks before the final date of filing return of income and a nation wide strike observed by the country at last date of filling the return, there are high chances that majority of the corporate taxpayers were not able to furnish their tax returns.
