SDA acquires land for expansion of Hattar Industrial Estate

Sarhad Development Authority (SDA) of the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has acquired land to expand the most successful Hattar Industrial Estate and attract industrialists for establishment of units in it. This was stated by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Food, Mohammad Shuja Khan while speaking on behalf of the minister for industries in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly on Wednesday.
The question was raised by Sardar Aurangzeb Khan Nalotah. In his question, the PML-N legislator from Abbottabad has asked for the details of the performance of Sarhad Development Authority (SDA) during last five years. The house was told that presently 96 units were operational in the estate with the work force of 6458. He said that the provincial government had already taken the possession of the land. Similarly, he said that the developments of the soapstone mines in Abbottabad were also under consideration and a feasibility study in this regard had already been prepared.
In written reply to the question, the SDA mentioned the undergoing projects in the sector included Industrial Estate Jalozai and Bannu Industrial and Economic Zone for which 400 acres land has been acquired. The extension of the Industrial Estate Nowshera, Investment Facilitation Centre (IFC) and reconstruction of the infrastructure in the industrial estates of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sino-Pak Economic Zone, Hattar, Export Trade Centre and treatment of the industrial wastages of Peshawar and Hattar Industrial estates are also included in the under going projects.
Others undergoing schemes are preparation of the feasibility study for the establishment of chemical industry in the southern areas, expansion of the Industrial Estate, Peshawar and construction of protection wall, feasibility study for establishment of industrial estate on Kohat-Tall Road at Khushal Garh, feasibility study for the establishment of truck terminal in Peshawar, feasibility study for establishment of marble/granite and gemstone units in district Mansehra, feasibility study for business planning in Mardan and provision of fire extinguishing equipments to all industrial units of the province.
The proposed schemes of authority are included the establishment of marble and granite zone in Mansehra, establishment of industrial estate in each district, establishment of fruit and vegetable zone in Swat, mineral based chemical industries in Southern districts and establishment of electricity run agricultural products manufacturing industries in Mardan and establishment of industrial estate in Kohat.
