The Lahore High Court here Thursday disposed of a petition seeking a declaration that act of former Governor Salmaan Taseer for going on four days foreign visit without any intimation is illegal and in violation of the Constitution. The court observed that since Governor Salmaan Taseer has died it would not be now possible to establish whether or not governor had some 'malafide intentions' in not giving proper intimation about his foreign tour to concerned quarters.
The court declared that the petition is not maintainable after death of the respondent governor. Petitioner Noshab A Khan Advocate pleaded that he was contesting the legality of actions of Punjab government in the absence of governor.
