The Lahore High Court has sought report from investigation teams of police about missing doctor of Jinnah Hospital Lahore Dr Ali Abdullah till January 27. The court also summoned reporter of The Express Tribune Abdul Manan, who had claimed his story that missing doctor was in custody of Inter Services Intelligence (ISI). The petitioner counsel during today proceedings requested to summon Director General (DG) ISI and directed him to recover his son.
Deputy Attorney General (DAG) Naveed Inayat Malik raised objection to it saying that there is no need of summoning DG ISI because the agency has already denied the allegation. The petitioner Dr Sarfraz had submitted that his son work in Jinnah Hospital and went missing while coming home from the hospital. He alleged that personnel of secret agencies abducted him when he was on his way to home from the hospital on his motorbike. Previously, SP CIA Omer Virik and defence ministry and interior ministry in their written replies had informed the court that intelligence agencies working under their administrative control had no knowledge about the whereabouts of the doctor.
