Swine Flu patients advised to exercise extra care

Dr. Ijaz Ahmad Sheikh, Medical Superintendent, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital has said that Swine Flu is a disease which could spread to other people, therefore the patients carrying it should be extra careful while meeting healthy people.
He expressed these views in a meeting held here on Sunday. On this occasion, Principal Fatima Jinnah Medical College Dr. Rakhshinda Rehman was also present.
Dr. Ijaz said that at Ganga Ram Hospital, doctors and other staff has been directed to keep themselves ready to treat Swine Flu patients at all times. Apprising about the hospital, he said in its new building, the maternity department has been equipped with the latest facilities while expert staff has been posted for treatment of mother and child. He further said that doctors, especially professors and other staff working at the hospital have been advised to treat patients with love and humanity as the secret of prompt recovery lies in better treatment.
The medial superintendent pointed out that more infants are born at Sir Ganga Ram as compared to other hospitals of the city. He further said that a separate department has been set up for diabetic patients wherein laboratory facilities are also available. Dr. Ijaz stressed that the staff working in the hospital should be well mannered especially with those patients who have difficulties coming here due to poverty. These patients are in dire need of sympathy and affection, he added.
