According to police sources, the police team along with bomb disposal squad personnel acting upon information reached the site and defused a hand grenade bomb which was hurled at Higher Education Office by unidentified persons.

Police cordoned off the entire area and started efforts to trace out the suspects. Further investigation was underway.
