After announcing their engagement, the royal couple Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped out for the first time to reveal their love story.
The announcement, which was issued by Clarence House, the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall's official residence, said details about the wedding day would be unveiled in due course. However, let’s take a look at their royal relationship.
It all started with a blind date. Markle and Prince Harry met in London through a mutual friend, and soon they start dating. “The fact that I fell in love with Meghan so incredible quickly was confirmation to me that all the stars have aligned and everything was just perfect,” said Prince Harry in an interview to BBC.
“This beautiful woman just tripped and fell into my life. We’re a fantastic team, we know we are and over time we hope to have as much impact as possible,” he added.
Prince Harry also revealed he proposed Markle earlier this month during a “standard, typical night for us” at his home in Kensington Palace. “It was just an amazing surprise. It was so sweet, and natural and very romantic. He got on one knee,” Markle said.
Prince Harry said, “She didn't even let me finish. She said, ‘Can I say yes’. “Then there were hugs and I had the ring in my finger”.
The ring, which the prince himself designed, bore three glittering diamonds: a central stone from Botswana and two others from the collection of the prince’s mother, Princess Diana, who died in 1997.
