Kokikhel tribesmen to protest against occupation of their lands

Kokikhel tribesman of Khyber Agency on Friday announced that they could launch a protest campaign against the occupation of their lands by Frontier Corps in Shah Kas. Speaking at a news conference, on Friday, at Peshawar press club tribesman Mohammad Irfan Afridi, said that the Frontier Corps had illegally occupied their lands near Shaqas, in Khyber-Agency.
He added that they had discussed the matter with government officials, but they were not given any positive response. He said the tribesmen also appealed to President Zardari, Prime Minister Gilani, Governor Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Owais Ahmad Ghani, Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Ashfaq Pervez Kiyani, Corp Command Asif Yasin Malik to play their role for resolution of the issue, but they had also turned down their plea.
"We had staged protest demonstrations against the unjustified occupation to press the authority for immediate stoppage of construction work on occupied lands, he maintained. Around 50,000 population of the Khatai Khel owns the occupied lands, they had not left other option to get back their land to resort protest campaign against illegal occupation, he added. He said it was unfair and injustice. Following the indifferent attitude of the government, he said the tribal elders have decided to give a final ultimatum to concerned authority otherwise they will go for hunger strike and launch a protest campaign in the area.
