National Accountability Bureau (Sindh) has filed an accountability reference against Kamran Nabi Ahmed, Chairman, Pakistan Post Office Employees Co-operative Societies and others.
The reference was filed after approval from the NAB Chairman on the allegations of misappropriation of 18.38 acres society's land in sector 25-A/26-A, Scheme 33, Karachi, which was later on illegally transferred to the partners of Innara Enterprises namely Wali Bhai Momin, Mubarak Ali Raheem, Mubarak Ali & Barkat Ali, who are also accused in the reference.
According to NAB, the complaint of illegal sale of society land to Innara Enterprises was inquired and it revealed that Y. S. Hashmi Management Committee purchased land admeasuring 64-27 acres during 1982 from Zehri Khan Gabol through his attorney Syed Hayat Shah Kazmi.
Accused Kamran Nabi Ahmed, Jaffar Khan and others took charge of the management of the society on 6.1.2004. On 29.3.2004 an area of 18.38 acres was transferred by Kamran Nabi Ahmed and Jaffar Khan in favour of Aun Saeed Hashmi who subsequently transferred the land in favour of Wali Bhai Momin, Mubarak Ali Rajab, Mubarak Ali Raheem and Barkat Ali for a consideration of Rs 34.05 million.
The revenue authorities assessed the land valuing Rs 132.65 million during 2004 and the present market value is more than Rs 284.25 million. Accused Kamran Nabi Ahmed, Jaffar Khan and eight others in active connivance of each other and officers of co-operative department fraudulently, malafidly, dishonestly and by concealment of fact misappropriated society's land of 18.38 acres.
