ISLAMBAD: The Federal Board of Revenue has submitted a list of 43 officials to the Supreme Court of Pakistan, who remained posted at different positions in the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Commerce and the FBR along with senior officials who worked as FBR Chairmen, FBR Member Customs, Chief Collectors, Collectors of Customs and Directorate General of Customs Intelligence from January 1, 2007 to October 15, 2010.
It is learnt here on Thursday that the FBR has submitted the list of the relevant government officials to the SC following directive of the apex court. The list contains names of officials responsible for policy making. The list also contains officials basically involved in policy formulation. Secondly, the list also contains names of who were dealing with the customs related affairs at operational level. The heads at the operational level included chief collectors/collectors, etc. The list covers officials of Directorate General of Customs Intelligence whose basic job is take anti-smuggling measures. Thirdly, the list contains names of customs officials at directors' level who were practically involved in customs related operations in the field formations.
