Punjab Finance Minister, Tanvir Ashraf Kaira has said there is a need to prepare a national strategy that provides relief to the people and all political forces should be taken into confidence. He expressed these views while talking to various delegations and provincial parliamentarians here on Friday, disclosed an official.
The minister said in its three-tenure the government has made visible progress in both internal and external fronts, but there is still a room for further improvement. He observed that the government is facing economic constraints and thus there is a need to address the issue.
"When our government took charge, we inherited foreign reserves of US $4 billion and index of stock market was at 5000 points, and now under this government the foreign reserves and the stock market's index has crossed the figure of US $17 billion and 12,000 points, respectively. All these are positive economic indicators, but due to high inflation people are facing price-hike," he said.
