'Four medical colleges being set up in Punjab'

Federal Minister for Health, Makhdoom Shahab-ud-Din met Punjab Chief Minister, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, here on Saturday. Speaking on the occasion, the chief minister said Punjab government is taking solid steps for providing best medical facilities to the people and improving health sector.
He said that mobile health units are being provided for provision of latest medical facilities to the people of far-flung and backward areas of the province. He averred that special attention has also been paid to promotion of medical education in the province and four new medical colleges are being set up for the purpose. He said that buildings for these colleges will be completed this year which will help provide healthcare facilities to the people.
Earlier, secretary health Fawwad Hasan Fawwad gave a detailed briefing with regard to establishment of new medical colleges and their registration in the province. Director General Health, Dr Muhammad Aslam Chaudhry and President PMDC were also present on the occasion.
