Khosa presides over Ulema's meeting

Senior Advisor to Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa on Sunday presided over a meeting of prominent Ulema from all schools of thought and religious personalities held here under the aegis of Muttahida Ulema Board Punjab.
Provincial Minister for Law Rana Sanaullah Khan, Pir Amin-ul-Hasnaat Shah, Chairman Muthidda Ulema Board Punjab, Maulana Khan Muhammad Qadri, Sahibzada Mohibb Ullah Noori, Maulana Mufti Sher Muhammad, Maulana Dr. Mazhar-ul-Farid Shah, Maulana Abdul Rauf Malik, Maulana Qari Muzaffar Rai Puri, Maulana Muhammad Yousaf Anwar, Maulana Abdul Wahab, Alhaj Haider Ali Mirza, Hafiz Asad Ubaid and Hafiz Syed Kazim Raza Naqvi attended the meeting.
The meeting discussed prevailing situation of the country and matters relating to law and order.
Addressing the meeting, Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa said that the efforts of the government with regard to law and order could not be fruitful without co-operation of Ulema.
He said it was a good omen that Ulema of all schools of thought have rendered valuable religious services by co-operating practically for religious harmony and Ittehad Bainul Muslimeen on the occasion of Aashura Muharram, chehlum of
Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and Urs of Hazrat Data Ganj Bakhsh.
Chairman Punjab Ulema Board, Pir Amin-ul-Hasnaat said that Ulema of
all schools of thought were fully aware of the importance of their active role regarding unity of Ummah.
Ulema unanimously recommended that the bill by Shery Rehman regarding blasphemy law should be immediately withdrawn from the National Assembly and the committee headed by Federal Minister for Minorities Affairs Shahbaz Bhatti be dissolved. They demanded of Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani to announce these steps in National Assembly.
