Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Qamar Zaman Kaira said on Sunday that there is no concept of deadlines in politics, however, the reservations of Nawaz Sharif would be addressed and all matters would be resolved with political consensus.
Talking to media here at Dera Kaira, he said that the judiciary, media and parliament are independent, adding that petroleum prices were reduced back down on the demand of the opposition. He said that a committee has been formed to fulfil other demands of the opposition and to settle matters with consensus.
He expressed his astonishment over the Nawaz Sharif's statement, whereby he had alleged that he was being implicated in the assassination of former Punjab governor Salmaan Taseer. He said that PPP has always adopted the policy of reconciliation and took decisions according to the aspirations of people.
To a query, he said that every government protects its citizens, however, the murder case of three people at the hands of the US national in Lahore was sub-judice and the court would decide it.
Pakistan embassy had made effort for the release of Dr Aafia Siddiqi, he added.
The decision of cutting the cabinet size would be taken after consultation between the President and Prime Minister.
