Seminar on 'growing tendencies of intolerance' today

Allama Iqbal Open University and International FM-96 Radio are jointly holding a one day seminar on the title "Role of Education Broadcasters in the Eradication of Growing Tendencies of Intolerance and Violence in the Society" on Monday at Auditorium of the university.
The seminar will be inaugurated by Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Qamar Zaman Kaira while Prof Dr Nazir Ahmed Sangi, Vice Chancellor of the University will preside over the seminar.
Senior academics and government functionaries among them Secretary Information and Broadcasting.
Chairman PEMRA Malik Mushtaq. Director General Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation. Murtaza Sulangi, Director General Inter-Services Public Relations. Maj Gen Athar Abbas, Managing Director PTV, Yousaf Baig Merza, President Educational Broadcasters Forum, Qasim Haider will participate in the seminar.
The seminar is being organised to strength the relationship between the state institutions and educational broadcasters, who are not driven by profit motive or commercial consultation and engages, academician of the country to develop appropriate initiatives and provide a platform for raising relevant facilitation issues with the state institutions and scrutinising electronic media.
Prof. Dr. Masrur Alam Khan, Prof. Dr N B Jumani, Abid Khawaja, Iqbal Faheem Jozi, Samina Najeeb will present papers on "Radio School Concept" and Challenges of Extremism will be read by the representatives of International FM 96 Radio.
Allama Iqbal Open University broadcasts educational radio meprograms to strengths its printed course materials and international FM 96 Radio is successfully running radio school for the students of violence ridden Northern Tribal Areas of the country.
