Mercedes-Benz has just revealed the new flagship design of its most unusual vehicle, the third-generation CLS.
The unveiling was done on Wednesday at the Los Angeles Auto Show and is likely to arrive in markets by late 2018 as a 2019 model. The car will contain an entirely new exterior design, a new six-cylinder engine and completely new suspension technologies.
The 2019 Mercedes-Benz CLS will serve as a third-generation of the CLS flagship and will continue with the car’s ‘four-door coupe’ styling. The signature feature of Mercedes, single-louvre and diamond grille initiate the design. The car’s fenders surround the hood as the movement of the car’s design pushes back to the windscreen in forward motion. Flat and wide headlamps slant inwards from the grille along with a high-arching waistline marking the bodywork, reported New Atlas.

“Mercedes-Benz is building more strongly than ever on the aura and unique character of this trendsetting model: the new model has pure CLS genes with its arching waistline, flat side window lines and low greenhouse,” explained Mercedes.
The designer of the car Gorden Wagener said that the new CLS is a ‘logical evolution of the Sensual Purity design idiom’ and the ‘sharp edges and lines have been significantly reduced’.
CLS’ new in-line six-cylinder motor contains a kind of mild hybrid system. The car manufacturer described the novel engine as ‘a systematically electrified in-line six-cylinder with EQ Boost… and a 48 volt onboard electrical system powers’. The EQ Boost allows the gas engine to speed more competently, wrote Business Insider.
Moreover, the interior of the car is luxurious with appealing all-digital instrument-infotainment setup with screens that can be adjusted as per the driver preferences. The CLS will also have a feature ‘Energizing Comfort’ that was launched by the company this year. The feature permits six settings that focus on general wellness and contains aromatherapy, seat heating and massaging, and cabin lighting. The semi-self-driving system of the Mercedes CLS includes automatic steering, lane-changing, lane-keeping, and adaptive cruise control.
