Punjab Finance Minister Tanvir Ashraf Kaira has said that the situation of Pakistan is not similar to Egypt and Tunisia and thus ruled out any such uprising in the country. He was talking to various delegations here on Monday, disclosed an official.
He said we cannot compare the present situation of Egypt or Tunisia with Pakistan because in Pakistan, democratic system is going very well, independent judiciary is working and freedom of expression is there. "The people of Pakistan got rid of dictatorship after nine years and the present parliament is the symbol of democracy in the country.
Through 18 th and 19 th Amendments, the role of Parliament has been strengthened and powers of institutions have been balanced. All institutions of the state are working within its limit and there is no danger of any clash among institutions," he added.
According to him, the government respects the judiciary and all decisions of judiciary are being implemented by letter and spirit. The democratic system in the country cannot afford any conflict at this time and all political forces should work together to foil any conspiracy against preset democratic system. Pakistan People's Party and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz are committed to solve issues by implementing on charter of democracy and reconciliation policy would be continued.
The Minister said the politicians should show maturity and promote politics of harmony and tolerance at this time because our future is in democracy. Democratic process would be continued and the present government would complete its tenure.
