The Lahore High Court (LHC) here on Monday sought reply till from federal and provincial governments on February 1 (Tuesday) on four petitions seeking court order against authorities concerned restraining them from removing American national Raymond Davis killer of two persons outside jurisdiction of the high court or his possible handing over to US.
The court also asked Deputy Attorney General Naveed Inayet Malik and Assistant Advocate general to seek instructions from the respondents and apprise court on February 1. Chief Justice Ijaz Ahmad Chaudhry passed the orders on the identical positions filed by Asif Hussain, Muhammad Asghar, Ahmad Masood Gujjar and Iqbal Jafree. The petitioners said the arrested American committed crime in Pakistan, so he must be tried under Pakistani laws and should not be allowed to go back to homeland. The petitioners alleged that the arrested US consulate employee was an agent of FBI and a conspiracy was being hatched to send him back to US.
The petitioners submitted that the accused was being sent to Washington under the cover of diplomatic immunity. The petitioners contended that Raymond killed two Pakistanis with criminal intentions at Qurtaba Chowk, Lahore whereas another innocent citizen was crushed to death by American Consulate security personnel van came to rescue the accused. They therefore, requested the court to direct the federal government to place the name of the accused person on Exit Control List. They also requested LHC Chief Justice to take suo motu notice of murder of two citizens by US consulate employee Raymond Davis.
