Zafarullah Chaudhry re-elected CPSP President

Professor Zafarullah Chaudhry has been re-elected President of the College of Physicians & Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP) for the term 2011-14. Also, Professor Khalid Masood Gondal and Professor Tariq Mahmood Khan have been elected as vice-president while Professor Shereen Zulfiqar Bhutta has been elected as Treasurer of CPSP.
About 4,300 fellows used their right of vote to elect a 20-member council for the term 2011-14. Addressing the newly elected council, Professor Zafarullah Chaudhry said that CPSP will be made a role model in training, monitoring and medical education at international level during the next four years.
He further said that relations with Britain, Canada, Kuwait and other developed countries will be further strengthened while new centres will be established in Kuwait and Dubai like KSA and job opportunities will be provided for the fellows. Standard of training will be raised up to the international level through residency programme, he added.
The CPSP elected council comprises of Professor Zafar Ullah Chaudhry, Professor Khalid Masood Gondal, Professor Rakhshanda Rehman, Professor Amer Aziz, Professor Muhammad Amjad, Professor Rashid Latif Khan, Professor Ghulam Mujtaba, Professor Muhammad Asghar Butt, Professor Muhammad Shoaib Shafi, Professor Rizwana Chaudhry, Major General Professor Salman Ali from the province of Punjab, Professor Naimatullah Kundi and Professor Mumtaz Ali Marwat from the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Professor Naqibullah Achakzai from Quetta and Professor Tariq Mahmood Khan, Professor Shereen Zulfiqar Bhutta, Professor Syed Tipu Sultan, Professor Rizwan Azmi, Professor Abdul Sattar Memon, and Professor Sikandar Ali Mughal from the province of Sindh.
