As many as 395 uplift schemes of public welfare would be completed under the supervision of city district govt and TMAs in the district for providing better basic facilities of roads, sewerage, parks, drainage etc. These schemes were approved during a meeting of District Co-ordination Committee held here on Tuesday with MPA Rai Ejaz Kharal in the chair.
DCO/Convenor Naseem Sadiq, MPAs Rao Khashif Rahim, Shahid Khalil Noor, EDO Finance Syed Irshad Hussain, Town Administrators, TMOs and other concerned officers were present in the meeting. During the meeting 40 development schemes at a cost of Rs 106 million of TMA Lyallpur Town, 43 schemes at Rs 42.5 million of TMA Jinnah Town, 10 scheme at a cost of Rs 36.14 million of TMA Madina Town and 28 schemes at a cost of Rs 30.84 million of Iqbal Town were approved.
The meeting was informed that Rs 149.48 million would be spent on the completion of 137 development schemes of TMA Jaranwala and funds of Rs 184 million had been allocated for undertaking the 21 schemes of TMA Tandilianwala. Moreover, 22 schemes would be completed at a cost of Rs 22.88 million under the supervision of TMA Chak Jhumra and funds of Rs 27.30 million had been earmarked for the completion of 11 schemes of TMA Samundri.
It was pointed out during the meeting that the funds of Rs 47.21 million had been provided under the M&R head for 76 schemes of rehabilitation and repair of different roads.
DCO Naseem Sadiq informed that the improvement of the road from Gatti Dryport to Millat road via Danaula at a cost of Rs 40.8 million was also part of this development programme while Rs 24.4 million had been allocated for the construction of sheds and gates and provision of street lights in General Bus Stand Faisalabad.
