An activist of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) was shot dead at Ram Swami in the limits of Garden police station. According to police, two unknown armed riders attacked Junaid Qureshi 21 son of Hanif when he was sitting with his friends at Ratoji Compound situated at Ram Swami in the limits of Garden police station.
They said that after committing the crime, culprits managed to flee from the scene and added the deceased, who received four bullets on his upper torso, was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi for medico legal formalities. They said the victim, who was running garment business and also the resident of the same area where the incident took place, was an active worker of Unit 27 of MQM.
After the said targeted killing incident, tensions engulfed the Ram Swami and its other neighbourhoods. Unidentified miscreants resorted to Ariel-firing and forced the shopkeepers to pull down their shutters. Police have registered a case against unidentified culprits on the complaint of victim's father and started investigation in this regard.
