Government urged to protect medical institutes in Lyari

All Sindh Peoples Para Medical Staff Welfare Association on Wednesday appealed to the government to protect medical institutes in Lyari from destruction. A large number of people and members of the association's Lyari division staged a protest demonstration holding banners and placards demanding protection of medical facilities in their locality.
They said the government's negligence towards a number of medical institutes Male School of Nursing Lyari, Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Medical College and Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Cardio Sindh. Addressing the protesters outside Karachi Press Club, the president of the association's Karachi division Aziz Baloch demanded of the government to register the Male School of Nursing forthwith.
He said the school was established in 1996 in Lyari but still required the government's registration. He appealed to the government to commence admission for students in the school immediately. He also urged the government to open academic session at the Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Medical College with the admission policy without any delay. Baloch also demanded of the government to make the SNE facility functional at the Cardiology Institute at the Lyari General Hospital.
