Three-day training workshop on democracy begins

A three-day training workshop on democracy and good governance commenced here under the auspices of Strengthening Participatory Organisation for the partner organisations of four Frontier Regions of Fata namely FR Peshawar, FR Kohat, FR Lakki and FR DI Khan.
More than 39 participants from 13 organisations of four FRs participated in training workshop. At inaugural session of workshop Zar Ali Khan Afridi a Co-coordinator for the FRs cluster said to the participants that it was the 2nd such workshop for the organisations for FRs cluster.
Previously a training workshop of this kind was held in Peshawar about two months ago in which these organisations had actively participated. It was on Human Rights and the second is being held on democracy and good governance. This workshop is once again being held by SPO. The people of Fata, he said are extremely thankful to SPO regional office in Peshawar where its staff took keen interest to initiate work for peace and development in Fata.
SPO previously formed a cluster in Khyber Agency which it named as Khyber Civil Society Network on experimental basis which showed good results and worked in a better way to promote peace in Khyber Agency and to build the capacity of local civil society organisations. SPO once again initiated formation of clusters in Mohmand Agency and four FRs of Fata. Zuhra Luqman a MER Specialist of SPO talked at length to participants saying SPO is a leading organisation of Pakistan.-PR
