Unidentified gunmen shot dead a police official and cops in Aab-e-Gum area of Kachi Bolan district between Tuesday and Wednesday night. According to police, SHO PS Dera Allahyar Haji Ali Nawaz Khoso along with Head Constable Fakhruddin, Constables Imam Deen, Saib Khan and driver Rasool Bakhsh riding in police mobile vehicle was travelling to Quetta from Dera Allahyar as they had to be present before a Court in connection with hearing of a case.
When they reached Aab-e-Gum area of Kachi Bolan district, some 100 kilometres off Quetta at about 12: 15 am, unknown gunmen hiding in darkness ambushed their vehicle and opened fire at them. As a result of the firing, SHO Khoso and cops Fakhruddin and Imam Deen and driver Rashool Bakhsh were killed and Saib Khan was injured. Later, the assailants managed to escape. The police was informed about the incident at about 2:30 am. The bodies of the victim had been brought to Dera Allahyar.
