Wheat futures on the Chicago Board of Trade rose on Wednesday on good export demand from North Africa and the Middle East, traders said. Soyabeans were also firm, following wheat and supported by news of fresh sales of 2011/12 US soyabeans to China. Corn rallied to a fresh 30-month high and then backed off a bit on profit-taking. CBOT trends as of 10:25 am CST (1625 GMT) on Wednesday: March wheat up 23 cents at $8.58-3/4 per bushel. March corn up 4-1/2 cents at $6.70-1/2 per bushel. March soyabeans up 5 cents at $14.43 per bushel.
