Royal Palm Floodlit Cricket starts; 4 teams eliminated

The four-day Annual Royal Palm Floodlit Cricket Tournament took off at the superbly lit cricket arena of Royal Palm here on Wednesday. At the end of first day, four out of the sixteen teams, namely, Warriors, Lahore Eagles, Giants and Punjab Warriors stood eliminated after some fascinating and hard battles with the winning teams, namely, Lahore Strikers, Punjab Kings, Lions and Royal Eagles.
The great timers of the ball on the first day were Muhammad Ahsan (Strikers), Shoaib Shams (Punjab Kings), Faizan Chaudhry (Lions) and Ejaz Ahmed (Royal Eagles). On the second day of the tournament Royal Vikings will meet Indus Kings, Lahore Kings will be up against Royal Warriors, Wing Chair Team will oppose Punjab Strikers and Punjab Eagles would battle it out against Indus Warriors.
The quarterfinals of the tournament per schedule will be contested on Thursday and semi-finals and finals on Friday, 4th February. Each evening the matches start at 6pm. Earlier on the first day the opening ceremony of much sought event was performed by Omer Mir, General Manager, Royal Palm Golf and Country Club.
