Commecs Institute of Business and Emerging Sciences (CIBES) organised the opening ceremony of Sports Gala on January 27, 2011 during the Students' Week. The legendary Hockey Olympian, Iftikhar Syed, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Umer Iqbal, Member Managing Committee CIBES and Majid Bhatti, Senior Sports Journalist, were also present as the Guests of Honour.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Guest and the Guests of Honour highly appreciated and admired the college management and students for organising such a well-disciplined sports event.
The programme was formally started after the Chief Guest declared the Sports Gala 2011 open. After the formal commencement of the programme a beautiful March Past was exhibited by the students. The students in their colourful T-shirts with excited faces and sparkling eyes showed great skill and discipline in the March Past. At the end of the programme, college shields were presented to the Chief Guest and the Guest of Honour by the Executive Director Muhammad Arif Dossal and Principal CIBES, Cdr.
