Ichiro Otsuka, President of Otsuka Pharmaceutical Factory Inc, Japan, visited Pakistan on January 27, 2011 to see for himself the situation prevailing in Pakistan. During his visit to Pakistan, he visited Otsuka Pakistan Factory at Hub, Balochistan, and had detailed discussions with the local management and the local business partner.
He also met media persons where he explained that Otsuka is mainly operating in pharmaceutical business and the purpose of his visit was to evaluate the proposal submitted by local company for expansion of its business in Pakistan. He also stated that a technical team had already visited Otsuka Pakistan Factory and had detailed discussions with the local management.
In reply to a question from the press, he clarified that no decision has so far been made either about the amount of investment or the timing of the investment as they are still evaluating the proposal. He also said that they are looking at the overall environment of the country, and the decision will be taken after considering all these factors.-PR
