Tulip Flower Show from February 9

A three-day "Tulip Flower Show" will be held here at Royal Palm Golf and Country Club from February 9 to 11. Varieties that will be put on display at this extravaganza are: Parade, Purple Prince, Banja Luke, Golden Parade, City of Vancouver and Lee Van Der Mark. Floral Art Society of Pakistan Lahore Chapter will also arrange and display their flower exhibits and garden structures.
A spokesman of the Club said: "Royal Palm Golf and Country Club continuously endeavours to maintain and preserve the beauty of the natural surroundings which nature has bestowed on us. Although a Herculean task, the golf fairway and greens look beautiful and so does the allied environmental like age old and flowers that represent beauty at its best."
It may be noted that the Tulip is a perennial and bulbous plant and comprises of over thousands of species. Tulip centre of diversity lies in the Hindu Kush and Tien Shan mountains yet many varieties are grown in gardens, and an extraordinary feature of the Tulip is its diversity of colours and shapes which provide an endless feature of the Tulip is its diversity of colours and shapes which provide an endless source of inspiration.
