Crackdown on outlaws; 42 arrested, valuables recovered

Margalla, Islamabad police in its crackdown last month against outlaws and proclaimed offenders arrested 42 persons including four proclaimed offenders involved in heinous crimes. It recovered stolen cars and other valuables worth millions of rupees from their possession, said a spokesman of Islamabad Police, here on Saturday.
Police intensified patrolling and vigilance in the area to curb anti-social activities and special teams were constituted for the purpose. These teams succeeded in arresting 23 persons involved in crimes of heinous nature and recovered five stolen cars, five 30 bore pistols, one motorbike, mobile phones, gold ornaments and cash worth million of rupees from their possession. It also arrested four proclaimed offenders and 15 suspects during the crackdown. Further investigation is underway and police are hopeful to get important information from the nabbed persons.
SSP Islamabad, Tahir Alam Khan has appreciated the performance of Margallah area police and directed to curb crime in the area with effective policing. He termed it prime responsibility of police to ensure protection to life and property of citizens, saying every possible effort would be made to accomplish this goal.
