Road accident victims: Naveed announces compensation for heirs

Federal Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources Syed Naveed Qamar has announced Rs 100,000 each as compensation for heirs of all victims who were killed in a road accident in TM Khan on Saturday.
The minister announced the compensation after offering condolence with the families of the deceased in village Saeedpur, TM Khan district on Sunday.
It may be mentioned here that eight labourers were killed and seven others injured in road accident. He directed the health department to provide proper medical aid to injured labourers at Civil Hospital Hyderabad.
Naveed said the government was constantly upgrading facilities at the local hospital so that the people were provided all necessary treatment in the emergency cases.
The minister also directed the health officials to improve health care facilities in public hospitals.
Later, the federal minister attended as the chief guest a prize distribution ceremony organised by FM 100 radio at Tando Muhammad Khan.
Speaking on the occasion, Naveed said the FM radio were providing quality entertainment through music and interactive live shows besides raising awareness through their programs.
Showing his interest in the local broadcast, he said in the coming years a local television channel for TM Khan district would also be launched.
Naveed said the provision of facilities like health, education, infrastructure, etc was the responsibility of the government and that the PPP government following the vision of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto would complete a record number of development projects and welfare schemes during its ongoing tenure.
Earlier, the minister inaugurated a gas supply scheme in village Pattar in taluka TM Khan. He also visited the residence of MPA Mohsin Shah to offer condolence on the demise of his brother late Dr Hussain Shah.
