Olympic Games Football: Jadeed Khan set to lead U-21 team

Pakistan Football Federation (PFF)'s President has approved Pakistan Wapda's winger Jadeed Khan as Pakistan U-21 team skipper which will take on Malaysia in Qualifying Phase of 30th Olympic Games Football Tournament on February 23, 2011 at Kuala Lumpur.
Rizwan Asif of KRL will act his deputy. The team is comprised of goal keepers (3): Yousof Ejaz Butt (Birkerod IF Skjold, Denmark), Amir Gul (NBP), Muhammad Omar (KESC); Defenders (5): Manzoor Ahmed (Wapda), Alamgir Khan (Police), Ahsan Ullah (PEL), Obaid Majeed (KPT), Ansar Abbas (Army); Midfielders (7) : Faisal Iqbal (NBP), Syed Arif Hussain (Wapda), Hussnain Abbas (PIA), Muhammad Tauseef (Wapda), Muhammad Adil (KRL), Mahmood Khan (KRL), Irfan Khan (Bradford Park Avenue Association Football Club, England); Strikers (5) : Saddam Hussain (PIA), Fahad Ullah Khan (PTV), Jadeed Khan Pathan (Wapda), Rizwan Asif (KRL), Kalim Ullah ( KRL)
The return leg will be arranged by Pakistan Football Federation on 9 March 2011. Both the matches will follow age restriction - shall be born on or after 1 January 1989. It will be seventh international event for Pathan who played the last Pakistan Premier League as Afghan FC's skipper scoring ten goals, and later on played vital role in giving Muhammad Habib-coached Wapda the gold in 31st National Games with 12th minute winner against holders Army in semi-final on 28 December 2010.
Jadeed is product of PFF Youth Development scheme. After Asian Youth U20 Football Championship at Dushanbe, Tajikistan 2005, he made international debut against Maldives in Group A tie off 7th SAFF Championship on 3 June 2008 at Rasmee Dhandu Stadium, Malé, followed by Prime Minister Cup 2009, 3rd AFC Challenge Cup Qualifiers 2009, 8th SAFF Championship Dhaka 2009, 11th South Asian Games 2010. He also scored international goal in AFC Challenge Cup QR 2009 when Pakistan thrashed Brunei Darussalam 6-0. He was also part of Pakistan that toured Thailand two years ago under Georg Kottan. He was also registered by Wapda for 5th AFC President's Cup 2009 and will appear in the coming seventh edition later this year.
