The Karachi Port handled 128,887 tonnes of cargo including 97,179 tonnes of import cargo, 31,708 tonnes of export cargo, 4,735 loaded and empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Tuesday. The total import cargo of 97,179 tonnes comprised of 30,331 tonnes of containerised cargo; 1,664 tonnes of general cargo; 19,000 tonnes of coal and 46,184 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 31,708 tonnes comprised of 18,692 tonnes of containerised cargo; 189 tonnes of general cargo; 12,827 tonnes of bulk cargo: 1,530 tonnes of cement; 9,201 tonnes of wheat; 380 tonnes of rice and 1,716 tonnes of gandum.
Six ships namely Abadeh, Lodestar Genesis, Al-Mirqab, Birch-1, APL Shenzhen and Cape Manuel with crude oil, chemicals, containers, general cargo and containers respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. Three vessels viz Kota Anggerik, Al-Mirqab and Nord Observer carrying containers and jet oil respectively are currently at the berths.
Four ships namely Belquis, Kota Anggerik, Sorelle and YM America carrying containers, diesel oil and containers respectively expected to sail on Tuesday, while another ship namely Surreal with wheat is expected to sail on Wednesday.
Three vessels viz Bow Plata, President Jackson and Patton-1 carrying chemicals, containers and general cargo respectively due to arrive on Tuesday, while four vessels viz Oriental Carrier, Ital Glamour, Hanjin Beljinag and Manila Express with ethanol and containers respectively are due to arrive on Wednesday.
