The revenue collection of the FBR has crossed Rs 764.822 billion during July-January 2010-11 against Rs 694.66 billion during the same period last fiscal year, showing an increase of 10.1 percent. According to the latest FBR revenue collection data compiled here Wednesday, direct taxes collection amounted to Rs 275.531 billion during first seven months of current fiscal year as compared to Rs 275.078 billion in the same period last fiscal year, showing an increase of 7.2 percent.
The collection of domestic taxes amounted to Rs 670.386 billion during the period under review against Rs 610.669 billion, reflecting an increase of 9.8 percent. The monthly collection of January 2011 stood at Rs 103.168 billion, as per FBR updated data. Sales tax collection was Rs 327.536 billion during July-January 2010-11 against Rs 287.859 billion during the same period last fiscal year, showing a growth of 13.8 percent. The sales tax collection at the import stage was Rs 167.661 billion against Rs 132.355 billion whereas sales tax collection on domestic consumption was Rs 159.875 billion as compared to Rs 155.504 billion in the same period last fiscal year.
The latest data further revealed that the collection of federal excise duty (FED) was Rs 67.319 billion during first seven months of current fiscal year against Rs 65.732 billion during the corresponding period of last fiscal year, reflecting an increase of 2.4 percent. The collection of customs duty was Rs 94.436 billion during first seven months of 2010-11 against Rs 83.996 billion in the same period last fiscal year, reflecting an increase of 12.4 percent. The data further showed that the FBR has paid refund and rebate of Rs 55.617 billion during July-January 2010-11 against Rs 46.486 billion during the same period last fiscal year, showing an improvement of 10.1 percent.
