Elon Musk is now preparing to send his Tesla’s sports car to the surface of Mars through his all new Falcon Heavy rocket.
The CEO of SpaceX and Tesla, who claims to send humans to Mars by 2024, had now claimed that his Falcon Heavy rocket that is about to be launched will also carry a Tesla Roadster into space the next year.
The new version of the fastest sports car ever, Roadster, made by Tesla is said to be a ‘smackdown’ to the fossil fuel-addicted automobile market. Musk recently tweeted that he will send his personal electric Roadster to space via his Falcon Heavy rocket.

According to Tech Juice, the Falcon Heavy rocket is a part of the SpaceX’s fleet to inhabit Mars by 2024. He says that the first Falcon Heavy’s payload will be the Tesla Roadster playing the song ‘Space Oddity’ by David Bowie in it. Showing his excitement, Musk expressed, “The destination is Mars orbit. Will be in deep space for a billion years or so if it doesn’t blow up on the ascent.”

Musk’s plans seem to be completely real as back in March this year, he said that he plans to launch ‘silliest thing we can imagine’ during the maiden flight of Falcon Heavy, which is big enough to carry a payload of 37,000 pounds (almost 14 Tesla Roadsters) to Mars.
Science Alert reported, during a question answer session Musk further authenticated his plans. Answering a question about the ‘midnight cherry-red paint’ on the car, Musk replied, “Red car for a red planet.”
An engineer at SpaceX, Joy Dunn, verifying the news tweeted, “This is going to be so awesome. Oh this is legit and of course there will be cameras!”
He established that the rocket’s initial flight would take place in January 2018 from Kennedy Space Center, Florida. As a follow-up to the SpaceX’s Falcon 9, Falcon Heavy is more powerful aimed to be used for missions to the moon and Mars along with being able to make 30-minute transcontinental travel possible to Earth.
