Alleged kidnapper held, two youths recovered

Sindh police on Friday claimed to have killed an alleged kidnapper and two other arrested in a raid and recovered two pawns from Northern Bypass here on Friday. According to police, the Anti Violent Crime Cell (AVCC) and Citizen Police Laision Committee (CPLC) on a tip-off conducted joint raid at Khuda ki Basti, Surjani Town near Northern Bypass and recovered two hostages namely Saad Ali 22 son of Muhammad Ali Kaim Khani and Shehryar 21 son of Javed Rasheed after brief encounter.
They also claimed to have killed an alleged abductor namely Ghulam Rasool Baksh and arrested his two brothers and accomplices namely Hussain Baksh and Safdar Baksh in the said action. They said the kidnappers, who used victims' cell phones to contact their families, demanded Rs 150 million as ransom and brought both victims to Saakran, Balochistan till the final settlement.
Furthermore, they said the CPLC after observing calls on the victims' cell phones came to know that the kidnappers agreed on Rs 30 million for their releases and returned both victims back to Karachi from Saakran on Thursday. Reacting on the said information, the AVCC and CPLC on Friday conducted joint raid and recovered two hostages after brief encounter, they maintained.
They said that Muhammad Ali Kaim Khani, a father of Saad, was high rank official in the district government while Shehryar's father was a well-known businessman. The police said that Saad and Shehryar were abducted from Sharfabad, New Town when they were in a car of their friend Haris on January 18, 2011. The case 36/11 was registered on the complaint of Haris against kidnappers.
