Sindh Minister for Local Government, Aga Siraj Durrani has said that the government will take strict action against those involved in corruption in reconstruction of buildings demolished in Ashora incident. Talking to newsmen at Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI) annual dinner, he said on the instruction of President Asif Ali Zardari we have provided all facilities and assistance for reconstruction of these building.
He assured that he would soon visit the construction site and discuss issue with the stakeholders to find out factual position. He said the government is negotiating with China for importing CNG busses and hopefully deal would be finalised soon. He further said that Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) would have its offices in all the district of the province.
The SBCA offices in Hyderabad, Sukkur, Larkana, Mirpur Khas etc, will have separate chief controllers. Replying to a question, he said that only qualified engineers could become controllers of buildings. He said that Engineer Manzoor Qadir has been appointed as DG SBCA. Replying another question, he said that he had advised the city government not to change the status of immunity plots. We are demolishing construction on these plots on court order, he added.
