Capital police arrest 33 suspects, recover weapons, drugs

Islamabad Police rounded up 33 suspects during search operation in different areas of the city and recovered illegal weapons and drugs from their possession, said a spokesman of Islamabad Police here on Saturday.
SSP Islamabad Tahir Alam Khan has directed to enhance security measures, by adopting strict checking at the exit and entry points of the city, besides ensuring vigilance and strict patrolling in their respective jurisdiction, he said.
Special team was constituted, which conducted search operation at under construction plazas and different locations in the area of Fateh Jang road, village Dore, Kashmir Housing Society, Chungi No 26, G-15, Mera Badia. The teams succeeded in arresting 25 suspects from whom investigation have been started.
Similarly, Aabpara and Sabzi Mandi police stations arrested five suspects while Bhara Kau, Tarnol and Golra police arrested Naveed, Zakir and Tahir Mehmud for having two 30 bore pistols and 550 gram hashish. Meanwhile, Koral police nabbed a Nigerian national identified as John-Obioran who could not produce any documents for his legal stay in Pakistan. Inspector General of Police Islamabad Wajid Ali Khan Durrani has directed the police officials to accelerate their efforts against anti-social elements and ensure complete protection to the lives and property of the citizens. DIG (Operations) Bani Amin Khan and SSP Islamabad Tahir Alam Khan have also directed all SDPOs and SHOs to conduct search operation on daily basis in different areas and keep vigilance eye on the suspected elements so as to avoid any untoward incident.
