UAF to hold festival week from March 13

The University of Agriculture Faisalabad is holding festival week commencing from March 13 as a part of university's golden jubilee celebrations, bringing a variety of colourful programmes for the locals. The programmes include horse and cattle show, flower exhibition, Kissan convention, photo exhibition, international conferences and seminars, birds show, poultry conferences and others.
The programmes are aimed at not only sensitising the people about agriculture, livestock but also provide a platform to people to entertain, bringing an opportunity to get refuge from monotonous routine. The Agriculture College was elevated to the level of university named University of Agriculture Faisalabad in 1961. The occasion was a historical and landmark in the realm of agricultural development in the country. The university, in this regard, is organising the week although Golden Jubilee celebrations will continue throughout the year.
On Sunday (March 13), the inauguration ceremony of the festival will be held at 3:00 pm at the university stadium. On Monday, agriculture exhibition comprising photo exhibition, flower exhibition, job fair, etc will be inaugurated at 9:00 pm at D-ground, UAF. On the same day, cattle show, bird show to be carried out. At 11:30, international seminar titled "50 Years UAF WSU Legacy" will be held. Horse and Cattle Show will be opened at 4:00 pm. Cultural show to be held at 8:00 pm
Tuesday programmes include Kissan Convention at 11:15am at Iqbal Auditorium; Sahiwal cattle competition at 2:30 pm; Kabbadi match at 4:30 pm; Cultural Show at 8:00pm. Wednesday programmes comprise international seminar on " Vision for Pakistan's agriculture, challenges and options" at 2:00 pm, Games events at 4:00 pm; cultural programme by University Art Club at 8:00 pm. Thursday programmes are: visit to Ayub Research at 9:00am; Poultry Congress at 11:45am; business meeting of Alumni Association at new senate hall at 2:30pm; cultural show by Faculty of Sciences at 8:00 pm at Iqbal Auditorium.
