Capital police directed to give a new look to security arrangements

After reviewing fresh security alerts from intelligence agencies, Federal Minister for interior to give a new look to the security arrangements by making the intelligence sharing more Malik has directed Islamabad Police and other law enforcement agencies to give a new look to the security arrangements by making the intelligence sharing more effective to thwart recurrence of any terror action in the capital.
Malik expressed these views, while addressing a high level meeting held at Interior Ministry on Wednesday. The meeting reviewed fresh Security Alerts and discussed matters and challenges related to security issues of the Capital City. Rehman Malik presided over the meeting, which was attended by Secretary Interior ministry, Qamar-uz-Zaman Chaudhry, Director General Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), Waseem Ahmed, Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Tariq Pirzada, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, Wajid Ali Durrani, Deputy Inspector General of Police (Operations) Islamabad, Deputy Inspector General of Police (Security) Islamabad and Senior Superintendent of Police.
Addressing the meeting, Interior Minister directed Capital Police and other law enforcement agencies to keep a vigilant look on suspected people to ensure law and order in the city. The meeting discussed matters related to security of the Capital City with special reference to Law and Order situation in the Capital and decided to enhance security by taking more measures in this regard aimed at providing foolproof security to the citizens.
The meeting also decided to introduce more effective intelligence sharing between the institutions besides improving co-ordination among them. The meeting further decided to make security-checking system at entry and exit points of the Capital City more practical and effective.
