Four suspected Tehrik-Taliban Pakistan men held

Crime Investigation Department (CID) on Wednesday claimed to have arrested four most wanted Tehrik-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) militants and recovered huge cache of weapons and ammunitions.
According to details, a CID team headed by SSP Omer Shahid and SSP Chaudhry Aslam received a tip off on the appearance of at least eight activists of banned outfit TTP in Metroville area and arrested four of them namely Musharraf, Sherzeli, Ahmad Ali and Hameedullah in a raid near small graveyard of Metroville area while other militants including Ameer TTP Khan Zaman, chief TTP Qari Abid, Tayyad Mehsud and Fida Mehsud escaped from the spot in darkness.
SSP Shahid said the arrested militants during initial course of investigation, revealed that they were planning to trigger terrorist attacks in Karachi. He informed that a huge cache of weapons including 1 suicidal jacket having 22kgs of explosive material, 3 Kalashnikov, 3 hand grenade, 1 smoke bomb, 10ft long detonator wire, 1 detonator, 5kgs of Hashish, 10kgs of high explosive material and 73 rounds were also recovered in the operation.
The SSP said the detained militants and their absconded accomplices had involved in number of heinous crimes including the killing of law enforcers including SSP Farooq Awan in Karachi and Waziristan. He said that the Bomb Disposal Unit after examining the recovered suicide jacket disclosed that the militants had installed mortar bullets in suicide jacket and made it capable to destroy three-storey building.
He said that the accused, who wanted to implement Islamic law at Sohrab Goth and other cities of the country, had included the offices of the law enforcement agencies, police and personnel of other security agencies in their hit list. Furthermore, he said the department has initiated probe to dig out more information. Several cases have been registered by the CID against them.
